Pepper or Spear

Mint, that is?!

Earlier this morning it was lovely and sunny, a quick blip of one of our mints in the herb raised bed.......as you can see its flowered now, and is going to seed, much to this hover-fly's delight ;-)

We got a phone call from mum just after 9 this morning, which is most unusual.......she was ringing to warn me before I see her later, because she had a fall last night, tripped up her door step and has landed flat on her face.......!

After Pilates, me and sis went to mums, her face is a real mess......she's lucky not to have broken her cheekbone or nose, or worse! Pretty much the whole of her face on the righthandside is black and blue. She looks like one of those awful pictures you see on TV when an older person has been mugged :-( but she's a tough old bird ( her own words) and despite how it looks, she is fine in herself thankfully! After we had lunch, me and sis popped out to do our own shopping for an hour, then I went back to mums for the rest of the day. We've been bathing her face with witch hazel which has brought the bruising out even more, so hopefully it will speed up the healing.

I got soaked twice later on today, it absolutely poured down and driving home on the motorway wasn't much fun either, really slow, so much spray.......35/40 mph!

Picked hub up from daughters en route then came home, filled up two charity bags with some of the little girls clothes out of the loft.....think the NSPCC will make good use of them :-)
