Headley Hall Trees
After a wet start to the day the weather cleared up a bit and late mornign we went out for our walk.
We walked along Headley Lane to Headley Hall Farm where I took this shot of the trees around the duck pond. I did notice that a nice new fence has appeared around the pond.
The wind was catching the leaves and the sun was making them appear bright yellow.
The area of the farm has a varied history - there was an aerodrome there in WWI and in WWII the site was laid out with dummy aircraft to make it look like an operational airfield. Speaking to one of the old gents in the village he recalls as a young lad running errands for the troops stationed there, including fetching cigarettes from the shops! Times change.
It has been used for crop trials (including some GM). It used to be part of Leeds University but has now been acquired by Aksham Bryan agricultural college.
