Under its principal conductor Michael Sanderling, the orchestra performed Brahms' Academic Festival overture; the Elgar Cello Concerto, and Beethoven's Symphony No.3 - The Eroica. Brilliant!
This is the soloist, Sol Gabetta of Argentina, taking a bow after a stunning performance of the Elgar Concerto.
The orchestra is the State orchestra of Saxony and has been in existence since 1870.
It was superb, and gave a really world class performance, much appreciated by a full house in the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham.
