New arrivals

Farmerboy told me there were 3 wee ducklings on the pond while he was milking this afternoon, so while tea was cooking, I went for a walk to see if they were still there.  And sure enough they were - along with Mum and Dad Paradise duck.

It's been a warm day, with an unseasonal temperature of 23 degrees C.  The East Coast of the South Island had temperatures in the high twenties, with Kaikoura reaching 32 degrees C.  This is seriously high for this time of the year and if it keeps going with these temperatures, the East Coast will be in for a drought.  Not what they want this early on in the season.
