Tales of the Riverbank
I had a couple of things to do in Newport Pagnell this afternoon so as I was parked next to the church I had a wander down through the churchyard to the point where the river Ouzel flows into the Great Ouse. It's a very old churchyard and lovely to walk round but I did think it was a little insensitive on the part of the planners to have built an old folks home next door to the funeral parlour with both backing onto the graveyard.
The bank opposite is part of an island in the river which is privately owned and has a very nice house built into the old road bridge, although you wouldn't know it was there if you were driving past as the only visible part from the road is a small entranceway. It is prone to flooding though, as you might expect.
