Alignment of the planets and moon

I went out to get the morning paper and looked up at the sky. After taking some pictures, I checked the web and found that this alignment of the moon, Venus, and Jupiter is rare. They won’t be this closely aligned again until 2021. With a telescope, I would have also been able to see Mars, which is between Venus and Jupiter.
