Colorful Characters

I've known Patti and Clyde for a very long time. We met when we all sang in the Whatcom Chorale. Clyde is a bass and Patti a soprano like me. They have sung many places including the Vancouver Bach Choir. Like me they are retired from singing. They are great folks and real characters. Clyde out-dresses any man I've ever met. His sense of color is, erm, well, strange... and totally wonderful. Who'd have thought of putting this combination together to celebrate October. I wouldn't have.

Patti is an artist and creates so many things the mind boggles including wonderful jewelry. I've got some of her creations and I love them. Recently she has lost quite a bit of weight and is looking fantastic. She has a huge wardrobe of caftans that she used to wear all the time. Now she is branching out.

I took this picture at Trinity Lutheran Church where the Bellingham Music Club holds its Wednesday morning concerts. This morning we were treated to an abbreviated version of a new musical created by a local musician to celebrate the music of Cole Porter. He built a story to showcase a large number of Cole's songs. It was delightful and the cast was great at acting and singing.

There was a coffee and cookie reception beforehand hosted by Barbara who has been running the receptions for a long time. I posted a picture of her and a friend serving the coffee as people arrived for the concert. Barbara is on the right.

Afterwards we met the usual crowd including these three friends for lunch at Mikanos. Now we are home and Arvin and Helena are napping while I fiddle on my computer. We are all way too full from the dinner-sized Greek food lunch we ate. I expect that we will be spending a quiet day from now on.
