Acer and light

I'm glad I remembered to photograph the acer (the only plant we brought from Essex) before the leaves fall off for the winter. The sun is shining on a bush in the border with little white flowers creating the bokeh

I feel there is some positive movement in my jaw. I have been wearing the mouth guard all night now for four nights (still disturbing my sleep but getting more used to it). I still have pain but can now open my mouth wide enough to fit a whole grape instead of having to halve my grapes. I'll take any improvement at all as a good sign!
