Such lovely eyes...

...or freaky at least.

An undulate ray caught off Budleigh.  According to the JNCC website:

'Undulate rays are found in comparatively deep water, from 50-200m depth'


So this one obviously hadn't read the memo...turning up in 10m.  

She had some sort of nasty looking leech attached to her back, which really didn't want to let go.  Clamping forceps just behind the leech's head eventually encouraged it to detach, and she flew off into the gloom maybe a bit more comfortable.

The cod and mackerel weren't so lucky...
