Not exactly our personal choice of carpet colour but it pervades most of the house. It got cleaned today care of the insurance company; the passage of plumbers, builders, plasterers and decorators had taken it's toll.

Hence all the usual hallway furniture is out of the way (and, semi-predictably, one side table is now added to the refurb list having rediscovered what's underneath the cloth that covers it).

The wall panels are a bit of a pain.  We'd love to be hanging some large pictures on the walls but they look daft inside the plaster mouldings.  Still, it continually reminds me of Chigley's Winkstead Hall and Brackett answering the phone for His Lordship...

In other news, Severn Trent Water came and peered at our water meter, which seemed to be trying to slowly drown itself.  Small leak fixed now.
