As we are unable to visit the Botanics Light show in Edinburgh this year we decided to visit the Enchanted Forest at Faskally near Pitlochry this evening. Having been to see the Enchanted Christmas at Westernbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire a few times we were not enchanted with the Forest and felt there was no comparison.  Admittedly the varied shapes and types of trees at the Arboretum have an advantage but the lights and sounds at Faskally seemed brash especially to my ears having enjoyed the sights and sounds of nature on previous walks there in the forest. The construction lights on the new Queensferry Crossing piers seemed much more enchanting as we drove home.
