Blake Dean, Hardcastle Crags

This is the view from Widdop Gate at the top end of Hardcastle Crags looking towards Walshaw Dean.
The line you can see on the opposite side of the ravine shows where the railway ran when they were building the three Walshaw Dean Reservoirs in the early 1900s.  This is the kind of locomotive that ran along the line transporting men and materials to the construction sites.
