How long will you stay little bird?

I was delighted to see two goldfinches on the feeders this afternoon - they are such pretty little birds.  They managed to stay long enough for me to take a few shots of them, some more successful than others.  I like the nut in the mouth of the main blip but I thought you also might like to see the two of them in the extra photo.

Dad has been out all day with the church choir putting the finishing touches to their CD recording.  That means I have had Mom with me all day and we've managed to fill the day with making soup, mince pies, and taking to the hairdresser.  It's the Harvest Supper Barn Dance at Church tonight so she has asked me many times what time she has to be there, what she has to wear, where she is going and what we are going to have to eat.  It will all be new again when we get there.  I did manage to separate her from four of the eight copies of Woman's Weekly she has been trying to hang onto because she thinks she hasn't read any of them.  I could economise really - she could read the same magazine every week  and not know.    Wry smile...

Sister is 55 today.  Her youngest son forgot and drank her Prosecco when he came home the worse for wear at 3am this morning...   Wry smile?
