goodbye XH558
Today I went to Woodford Aerodrome to watch the fly past of the Vulcan XH558
Not many of you know but I did a 5 year apprenticeship here from 1989 - 1994 and had a brilliant time and met many great friends there
as the site was sold to developers since it closed its hangars for the last time it was odd going on there and seeing most of it reduced to rubble
there were loads there today and it was nice catching up with some familiar faces too
as we all waited for it to roar over our heads for one last time on its flypast the atmosphere was great
and there it was the familiar sound hear at many airshows i used to volunteer at, it looked spectacular as it flew in and looped round overhead, i was very lucky to have picked a great spot to see it too
this was one of my fave shots, shame the sky was so grey though
a very emotional day for many
