We're all going to the Zoo...

Started the day a little bleary eyed this morning, but quickly rectified by the amazing breakfast at our fancypants hotel. Picked up the kids from my parents and then braved the showery weather to use the double pass to the Zoo that our lovely neighbour gave to us as she wasn't going to be able to use it before it expired.

Since we've last been, there's been some new sections open up, which are all native animal bits. It is just fantastic. All habitats rather than enclosures.

This bird is a Kea, an alpine type parrot. They're cheeky and intelligent birds, and as you can see, not shy of getting close to people...at least in this environment.

A fantastic weekend all round, now just to get sorted for working away the next couple of days.
