Getting Ready for the Invasion

Next weekend it is War Weekend in Pickering. A celebration of all things 1940s where about 10,000 extra people suddenly become part of the local community.

A big part of the event is the steam railway and the station. The volunteers have been busy preparing the station for war. Next weekend this platform will be full of people dressed up.
