Cooling off

Back over to our friends at the dairy for lunch and an afternoon with friends.  And how nice to be able to say after a few months that we have friends (plural!)

A fantastic roast beef lunch followed by chocolate mousse - with tons of cream in it and to go on top.  I guess the bonus of running a dairy is as much milk, cream, cheese and butter as you like!  Delicious.

The heat wave progresses, no idea how hot it was today, but it was hot, outside was cooler than in, with a lovely breeze coming across the fields as we sat chatting and whiling away the afternoon.  I guess it's the Zim equivalent of a Sunday roast in the pub where you sit around chatting for a few hours.

The neighbours have a swimming pool - not heated and to the locals, it's freezing, but a visiting Brit said it was lovely and not cold at all.  So here came the test, would we wade in stating it was a little bracing or behave like complete sissy's.  The latter. But once in, oh my life, delightful.
I guess that puts me firmly in-between the two camps.  Dirk had to dive in - too cold for him to inch in and the boy just hugged me the whole time, frantically sucking his thumb for comfort from this dreadful fate.  However, we were so wonderfully refreshed and cooled off for the rest of the afternoon. Family Dudman came back to the farm well fed, cool and completely relaxed, which makes for a pretty good Sunday.
