Třeboň
I was told about a fishing festival in Třeboň, an old town in Czech republic about 30 mins drive away. Every year in autumn the fishing lakes are drained and the fish caught in nets to sell. The smaller fish and the breeding fish are returned to the lake. Some towns make a big deal of this with food and market stalls so we were surprised to see little action going on in the town. The lake was also still full of water. We decided to have lunch then investigate it further. We had a fabulous lunch in a restaurant that I found when I went with my sister- and niece-in-law a couple of months ago. In the end we went home and checked on the internet thinking I had the date wrong. It was the correct weekend but the wrong lake. The lake in Třeboň is pretty big but this one is even bigger and a little way out from the town. Next year we will be more prepared!
The photo is part of the old town fortification opposite the lake.
