There are compensations for catching the 0700 train from Norwich.

We were actually at the doors of Norwich station before they were opened - I'd been a little anxious as I had to pick my tickets up from the machine, but they had been bought through a different travel agent to usual.  But it all went quite smoothly.

In fact, the whole journey went smoothly, and I arrived in Weymouth at 1435, almost exactly the time predicted by the timetable!  It was a very tedious trip, Sunday engineering works mean there is no direct train to London, so I had to get a bus connection between Colchester and Chelmsford.  I needed to be in Weymouth for a meeting at 1600, and in theory I could have caught the 0800 train, but didn't want to risk it.
