Our short, but enjoyable, time in Akureyri was over and we drove back to Hveragerði. On the way we saw more snow on the mountain tops that were there two days ago, winter must be with us, although we had very good and even sunny weather over the last few days. We stopped at a magical place next to the road with little houses and lots of elves and dwarfs...and to continue the magic theme, when we reached Reykjavik, we waited a while to see if the Peace light that was erected to commemorate John Lennon, would start shining, but unfortunately we were too early, and it only came alive at 8, after we had left for home.
