Peanuts

We've been observing the Nuthatch closely this afternoon and I saw something I'd not noticed before  -  namely that many of them take and manage to fly off carrying two peanuts.  Having watched them carefully we saw that what they were doing was impaling the first nut onto the beak and picking up a second one in their mouths. 

Many of you probably know this already but for me, seeing it for the first time today was a real treat.
