The Pep Talk

This afternoon we went to see Ben playing football for the team E manages, The Enderby or Narborough something or others.

"It's just a short walk". Famous last words. We were given two different sets of walking directions by two different people and got hopelessly lost on the Santander campus in Leicester! At one point we were trapped by iron railings with german instructions on the exit gate!!!  It would have helped if we'd actually known the name of the place we were trying to find.... We were about to turn back (after an hour!) when we asked a couple of kids on bikes if there was a football pitch anywhere. "Over there under the M1 bridge and right at the red rubbish bin". Yay!!!!

When we arrived it was (ahem!) half time and the team were being given the pep talk of their lives by my brother. We thought they must be at least 4 goals down. 

It turns out they were actually 1-0 up, thanks to a spectacular volley from Ben, which we of course missed. In the end they won 4-1.

We bit the bullet and the international data charges and used the GPS on the cell phone to get back in about 20 minutes!!!!
