Greater Flamingo(Phoenicopterus ruber)

The Greater Flamingos are back in Oman, I've had to abandon my nearest Wadi as they are carrying out drainage work in it, I think the birds are still using it but not quite in the same way or in peaceful conditions.
This beautiful bird gave me a good stare, but his mate had her head almost permanently in the water with that incredible 'upside down beak filtering the water. I think this is the first really pink bird I've seen and to say I was excited to capture them in my viewfinder is an understatement!
