Now for something stoatily different ;)

We went for a walk early this evening , just as the sun was going down. A beautiful day and a beautiful walk. We found some bales that were still in the fields on the way to Bay Farm Cottages near Ormonde Hill in Avoch. Staked in threes which I had nt seen before. One male pheasant was sitting on the top of one bale and as we continued the walk we came across a whole load of pheasants , heads down feeding until they saw us.
Some young bullocks were grazing in a field. The last of the sun shone through the trees lighting up the path and the old stone dyke.
On the way back this little stoat came bounding down the road towards it. Unfortunately the light was poor and it was some distance away but I managed to get this shot with it's huge meal in it's mouth, maybe a rat , Could nt tell but we had heard it's cry a few seconds before and wondered what it was.
Buzzards and a sparrowhawk were not far away and skeins of geese honked over head flying to Munlochy Bay for the night.
