Legacy of war

Beirut's war torn history is still clear in some areas. Newly constructed buildings sit next to buildings riddled with bomb and bullet holes. This building is in the district of Badaro. The 'Green Line' that separated East from West Beirut ran through here so it saw a lot of bombing. Given that it's 25 years since the civil war ended, and there are new buildings being constructed all across the city, it surprises me that more of these damaged ones haven't yet been demolished and rebuilt.
