Daddy day care

I had a meeting today, so Daddy was in charge, initially just for an hour, then 10 minutes before leaving the house, a pre-meeting for the meeting was requested and then we realised that it was unlikely I'd be finished ready for baby swimming. An hour turned into two and a half hours for daddy and son.

First up, child abandonment, visiting a friend at his office, the child was deposited with he girls from accounts (allegedly they practically took him out of Dirks arms) and given a towel as a play mat and highlighters for toys. Frankly, child minding for the bosses friend (or anyone) has to be more fun than accounting.

Then it was baby swimming with the mums - which I'm sure was quite a sight. The report back was one of great fun, giggles that are just starting and lots and lots of smiles. Alex enjoyed it too.

So a total role reversal morning. My meeting was with an NGO about malnutrition in Africa, talking about how this can be helped and the importance of nutrition instead of what is called 'belly filling'. Very enlightening and incredibly sobering at the same time.

Back to the farm for the afternoon, where we're generally hiding from the heat as best we can.
