Sacred Fire

Brenda (centre) Osborne's daughter went missing in 2008; hope to find her alive remains.  Earlier in 1971, Brenda's cousin, Helen Betty Osborne, a 19 year old Cree woman, was abducted, raped and murdered by 4 young white men in The Pas, Manitoba.  Stories one after another of missing women.  Red dresses hung from trees as present day memorials.  Brenda has organized marches and protests and occupations trying to get the attention of the government and society to this horrible issue.  Here Brenda & company are camped out on legislature grounds with a 24 hour a day sacred fire burning.   Her personal drum is inscribed Walk 4 Justice.

The extra is Penny Lang, a fellow "camper" working to support justice, healing, political action and whatever.
