Ka ora! Ka ora!
So, things will never be "normal" again, I get that and just admitting while accepting this as "fact" has turned out to be enormously self-rewarding (I think that's the proper way to express the feeling) I realize as we get older (no more mature) we encounter situations that at first appear foreign to us, but gradually - if we allow - it develops into something we deal with in ways and manners that just come naturally
Not saying it doesn't hurt, it does, but the reasons behind the hurt evolve from anger, to pity, to denial, to resolve and strength. And that last stage is where I find myself; someplace She was from day one
"Stiff upper lip, never let them see you sweat, keep calm and carry on" (Pip Pip and all that rot)
Must be something in the innards of women that gives them that certain ability to remain above the immediate - or at least this particular woman -
Steffi had a wry smile and digging comment for me earlier: "you do know Tom Jones lives in Los Angeles not Wales now, has been for decades, so he's probably a Dodgers fan"
Still has very limited mobility - left side of - her face is slightly frozen (could be wrong medical term but what I'd call it) voice slowed and speech slurred but distinct, can rise and stand with assistance and with the use of those infernal elbow crutches take measured steps solo
So Ka Ora! - by-the-by, that's the one thing we can agree on without compromise, Steffi has a thing for the All-Blacks, has something to do with former AB Joe Rockoko and of course, Jonah Lomu
Jenni thinks she was born to surf, actually she's pretty good at it - for a Johnson - found it strange to come across an exhibit in London, relating the history of British surfers "really, you people surf?"
"Dude"
And so it's with great gratitude and appreciation she bids adieu to Steff and thinks: "Adios England, Buenos Dias San Francisco" (or rather Buenas Noches since she lands like 9 p.m. tonight)
