Seamans Mission gates

We had to take the car for it's annual service today to Liverpool and had a wander around the city while it was being done.
Down near the Albert Docks which has  been redeveloped, there is a modern shopping centre where these gates are, they stand on the spot of the old Seamans Mission (where the John Lewis store is now) They were removed in 1951 to be refurbished and never came back until the council tracked them down discarded at a foundry and brought them back in 2011. The famous Liver Bird is incorporated in the design.
