Victorian tube
Had a work event at the London Transport Museum today which included free entry to the exhibits (a nice touch as tickets cost £16). They have the only carriage left from the City and South London Railway, which when it opened in 1890 was the world's first electric underground railway.
The windows are tiny compared to modern tube carriages, it must have been a stuffy dark experience but it wasn't all Victorian severity - the seats are comfy!
