HUMBLE PIE...

...Antoine Di Mauro, maker of guitars... I Googled him up to see what all the fuss was about - apparently he was the big cheese - the bee's knees in Paris in the 1950's.

OK - I called it a crappy guitar with good reason - I've had the opportunity to sound the depth of deception in his construction & the crass crudity of his work.

But - big but - when I finally put the strings on - the sound was remarkably good after probably 40 years of neglect.

Humble pie & a wee dram!
