PRICKERY

Anyone know what this is.  Years ago I used ti hike through this field and these plants about three feet high grew there in rows, like it was a crop.  The field hasn't been farmed for a long time and these are still growing, but spread out now.  A few weeks ago I noticed them, cut one off, and cut it open.  It was packed tightly with a bazillian little seeds.  Like sesame seeds.  Today I noticed that some of the pods have dried brown, cracked open, and there seeds are gone.  The dried ones are kind of petty.  See extra.
Ok brilliant me who is so old he forgets he has a machine that tells him everything, googled  it.  Locoweed is my favorite name. Very fascinating.   Deadly, hallucinogenic, spiritual tripper.
