Rescue

We had a bit of a stroll down the front at Lytham this afternoon, the tide was in and when we got down near the slipway at the Western end there was a bit of activity.

The coastguard vehicle was there and a couple of lads were pointing out into the Ribble estuary. We hung around trying to see what they were looking at and before long the coastguard rib appeared well out in the estuary and moving quickly. Before long it headed for shore and it was obviously towing something.

It turned out it was towing this jet ski which one of the lads waded in to get back from the coastguard; whatever was going on all seemed to end happily so after getting my blip we carried on our stroll via the pub where it was nice enough to sit outside in the sunshine.
