Lyra's Guide to Biscuit Making
1. Insist on measuring out the butter and sugar 'All By MYSELF!' making things slightly tricky for Mum later on.
2. Surprise Mum with my proficiency using a handheld mixture.
3. Admire the beautiful fluffy mixture with mum for a moment or two. Then dip a finger or three in to test it tastes as good as it looks.
4. Break an egg into the mixture by taking it in my fist and squeezing, hard.
5. Decide that the biscuits should not be biscuit colour, but blue. Add about half a bottle of blue food colouring despite Mum's suggestions to 'Be Careful'
6. Add a single drop of vanilla essence, having understood about being careful now and taking it a little too far.
7. Add an indeterminate amount of flour and get stuck in mixing it with my hands.
8. Insist on rolling the mixture 'All By MYSELF' to varying degrees of success.
9. Cut out biscuits in a variety of shapes including a lot of 'dogs' (aka reindeer - Lakeland clearly need to work on their patterns).
10. Put in the oven and ask repeatedly when they'll be ready.
11. Add a LOT of red icing (pictured) then pour bucketloads of sprinkles on.
12. Waltz around proudly clutching a plate of finished biscuits. Which look 'Too Good' to eat according to Mum and Dad.
