Diggers and holes

The road that my parents live on is being systematically dug up to replace gas mains pipes which have been in place since the houses were built in the 1930s and are reaching the end of their lives.

It's causing huge disruption and stress amongst residents as driveways are inaccessible and parking now pretty impossible up the road.

Many driveways and front gardens are having to have trenches dug into them to follow the mains pipes to each house. My parents are worried as they only had their driveway laid in the spring... fingers crossed that their pipes are not complicated.

Hopefully it will be over soon.

My 5-year-old niece was fascinated by the digger and wanted to go outside to watch... putting her hands over her ears of course as it was very loud!
