The Smallest Show on Earth

A rubbish day all round!
Get a frantic call from Joanna's sister Carolyn - In tears & can't reach Joanna - their dad is ill 'it's bad, really bad' is all she can say. I find Joanna & she rushes off. We're all in a meeting later talking about the funding cuts the council are threatening us with - don't think we can survive any more! In the midst of this we hear that Joanna's Dad died before she reached him. I feel so sad for her - her life revolved around him.
Then immediately go into another meeting about cancelling some of the shows in out October Festival - very depressing.
Have to stay until 11pm to welcome The Smallest show on Earth & buy them all a drink - nice cast, but I'm shattered. Jules gets in a mood with me when we get home.
