Last night I felt very proud of myself. I managed (under the strict supervision of Mr PB) to remove one of Snowy's tyres and mend Fridays puncture, and put the tyre back on. Snowy has hub brakes so the business of taking off and refitting the wheel was very much Mr PB's domain. This is a first for me!

Today I dragged myself out of bed for the weekend bike ride. I really wanted to go to the Castle Bytham Village fete - but was not so enthusiastic about cycling there. But we set off. 8 miles in we had to take refuge under this tree - the heavens opened!! The result was that the 3 of us were soaked through. Eventually the rain eased and we set off, on a much shorter slightly adjusted route to Stamford (got soaked through again here, and I thought Mr PB was having a laugh when he took us along Water Street!). There we had tea and cake and all agreed that we would make it a shorter ride and planned an alternative route home. Only a 30 mile ride in the end - but were home early
