Amur honeysuckle

The fruits of the Amur honeysuckle, Lonicera maackii, provide some redness at this time of the year. This plant, named for the German herbalist, Adam Lonitzer and the Russian naturalist Richard Maach, was introduced in the 1800s as an ornamental but unfortunately has proved to be very invasive. It makes up a large part of the understory these days. I blipped this earlier in the year when it was in flower (May 5th).
