Piece of cake...

This is the cake that got a brief mention in my Friday blip. Despite today's title it was a tricky job; once I'd worked out how to construct the face using icing it didn't take too long, but several false starts and plenty of trial and error meant the finished product wasn't finished until well after midnight. The price of mildly obsessive perfectionism perhaps. Anyway, it went down well and I have a new-found respect for people who produce those wonderfully elaborate, smudge free and smoothly-iced cakes for a living.
