42 Pound Cannon Gregson Park Hamilton

These guns were brought from Victoria Barracks in 19o5. They were originally placed at what is now the location of the opera house. Whilst in Gregson Park they were moved at lest twice. They have been extensively rebuilt and refurbished in 2006 and if you are in Newcastle they and the ones at Fort Scratchley are worth a look.
I was lucky to be able to see the cannon ball as it came out of the cannon.
