Along the Shore

A whole dog family (and all the extended, inbred relatives) has taken up living along this river shore. As boats drive by with tourists waving and taking pictures, the dogs run along the sand until the sand turns to rocks and it's easier to wait for the next boat.

We jumped overboard for a swim, but when the dogs came to investigate their new neighbors, our group decided to move on.

4 out of 6 people in my English class said they like dogs the best, but when it comes to dogs that are bigger than rabbits or cats, most Thais aren't so excited. The small, "toy" dogs are definitely preferred here. People carry them around the market (and occasionally even the malls) in cloth bags or unique carriers.
