Heroic

I decided that this would be my Heroic entry. My dad ( along with so many other young men) went straight into the army from school when WW2 broke out. Over the six years he was mostly in Monte Cassino in Italy, North Africa and in Greece. He was lucky to survive it but wouldn't talk about it very often. He died in 1984.
Last week mum and I took his medal ribbons to the museum and were told they were , from left to right ....
The 1939-45 Star, the Italy star 1943 - 45, the Defence medal 1945 and the War medal 1939 - 45.
Definitely heroic !
