Portrait of an icon
I love Audrey Hepburn, have done since I can remember. For me, she is the epitome of style and poise, elegance and most of all humility. The exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery has been running since early July and I literally managed to get in to see it at the eleventh hour as it closes today.
Supported by her two sons, there were many photographs on show which have previously never been seen in public.
As graceful and beautiful in the later years as when she first stepped in front of a camera, she ended her life as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, where she showed compassion to those maybe forgotten by others.
Wherever she is now, I'm sure she'll be wondering what all the fuss is about! X
