Farmers market
Every Sunday in my hood. In as much as these things go, it's pretty fancy to meet the sensibilities of the local clients: organic fruits and veggies, grass fed meat and cheese products, free range fresh eggs, wild caught salmon, and homemade pies and jams. Also on offer: freshly made Belgian waffles (by a Belgian guy), paella (featured here) and crêpes.
My favorite of the vendors there is Jill, a goat farmer who always holds a goat cheese Camembert at just the correct ripeness for me. In the midst of all that 'fanciness', she comes across as just a very genuine person and I enjoy our conversations. My next project might be to visit her farm and follow the process of cheese making :)
