TONY RODE . . .

As you can see the sign on this moorland stone says KIRBY RODE . . . actually meaning the road to Kirkbymoorside. The irony is that my cycling mate Tony is called Kirby ! So Tony rode his bicycle this way today - a 22 mile ride across the moors following the old ironstone railway network. However we did push the bicycles up the hillside from Farndale.

Time for a coffee en route – but no cake available so a bacon butty replaced the cake today. The Lion Inn sits at an elevation of 1,325 feet in the North York Moors National Park.
