Our storms have eroded the beaches and new rocks are uncovered.   This is to the left side at Eternity Beach (made famous by Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr in the surf in "From Here To Eternity").

Hurricane Olaf is strengthening, but is over a week away from us.  Prediction is for unseasonably warm days ahead as rainy weather turns to drought throughout winter and into spring.

Ran across an interesting quote today, from David Shapiro, a columnist for the Honolulu Star-Advertiser who attributed this to former Israeli President Shimon Peres -
"If a problem has no solution, then it's no longer a problem, but a fact."

This proposition can be taken two ways.  Some problems actually don't have solutions and must be treated as facts to be coped with.   With other problems, it's not that no solutions exist, but that there's no will among those in charge to make the hard decisions that lead to solutions.
