Yes Day!

We never seem to get time to be spontaneous these days- so this half term we decided to mix things up a bit by having a Yes Day.

There were some rules:
1. No asking for things in the future (phew- no trips to Disneyland)
2. We set a financial limit
3. They had to be activities we could do as a family
4. Most importantly...just say yes!

We packed a lot in- snowboarding, visiting a Roman villa, Butterfly World, Avebury until we found ourselves miles from home at Stonehenge.

We had such a great time- and the children loved it! Funnily enough, the things they loved the most were very simple- buying sweets from a vending machine, bouncing on the beds in the hotel room we ended up in and having £1 to go on a ride-on outside a shop. Seems we say "no" a lot!

As parents we have learned a lot from this- it felt so good to just say yes all the time. I hope our children have learned from it too. Perhaps we won't get off so lightly with the next Yes Day....but I think I'm ok with that because this one was a winner (better start saving my pennies just in case though!)
