It's that day again ......

....... the pool is calling !!
As I was doing my exercise regime and swim, I met a lovely man, who said he was a Christian and our conversation was very interesting . Sad to say he had a story to tell which was awful. In 2004 he saw his GP complaining of a back problem, apparently all that was offered was ---- you're over weight there's no treatment except --- loss weight--- he joined a club , changed his diet and lost some weight. By 2007 he returned to his GP with no change to his pain. It was at this point he went to see a consultant privately ---- out come ---- nerve damage involving 5 vertebral disc's an operation was needed straight away! For which the NHS had to pay. It just proves that it is so important to explore the symptoms before making assumptions of a diagnosis, not even an X - Ray was done. This fella' was told by the consultant he really didn't know why he wasn't in a wheel chair already, but certainly would have been if the surgery hadn't been performed. He was coping quite well and not really complaining he had accepted how he was now and felt lucky the NHS had paid for his treatment , I didn't find out his name but wish him well and hopes for improvement .
We all have our cross to bare but sometimes it's hard to do, no one said life would be easy

Remember it's heart and colesterol control month too!
