Into the woods
P went to school on her bike today. I'm really eager to get her more confident on it now. Riding more often is obviously the key. If I can convince her to use the bike rather than the scooter for school, we should be halfway there!
Me and A joined our first Nature Play group in the woods today. The idea is to let the children play and explore as they wish without too much prompting from the adults. Letting children be children in other words. This all seems amazingly romantic on paper but in reality felt like a load of adults sat around and the children getting bored and whiney...
Without P to encourage him I found a little prompting to be the best thing for us. I followed him wherever he wanted to go, but pointed things out to him on the way. He likes sticks. Big sticks, little sticks, fat sticks and tickle sticks!! Spider webs were a good source of amusement as were the ferns growing in the undergrowth.
We had a lovely time and the scenery in the woods was gorgeous. A fantastic setting for a play and picnic.
