New toy.

I'm SO excited. This is my new lens. I bought it online yesterday and it arrived this morning (I was so excited that I paid for superquick delivery).

It's the first time I've known enough about photography to even think about changing lenses. My blipfoto journey is definitely working for improving my photographic knowledge :)

And there's a nice story to this lens. I had bought it as a "birthday present to myself", which I always find such a self-indulgent and greedy attitude to have, and felt uneasy about having bought it under that pretence, but it was my excuse for spending money I didn't have. I had decided to "borrow" from next month's budget and buy it now so that I could take more beautiful photos at my birthday gathering this weekend.

But my friends were so generous over the weekend and allowed me to pay for almost nothing, that it means I no longer have to borrow from next month's budget after all and can consider the lens as a gift from them :)
